So exciting to look into those first 'windows' when faceting a sapphire. Once I put that first prepolish facet on, I get the first glimpse into a gem millions of years old, created by Mother Nature. There is endless beauty to behold.....
This one on the dop tonight is a large green C. Qld Gemfields Australian sapphire, maybe a colour shift š¤š¤
Dopped at a semi preformed 8.8ct, this gem is up for a customised freeform (leaf-like) design š.
This sapphire was purchased in the rough from a local miner, and was dug a few years ago. I have been wondering how to facet it for quite a while. I have decided to create a unique design to suit The Gem, which will take considerably longer than a standard design, but will be well worth it, to bring out the best in this amazing sapphire.
